Physician Spotlight: Dr. Kiranjit Khalsa and the growth of Premier Allergy

Dr. Kiranjit Khalsa opened Premier Allergy about four years ago, driven by a desire to bring her own philosophy to life—pairing high-quality clinical care and a family-centered environment with personal touches, including a kids’ corner in the waiting room stocked with children’s allergy books. The result is a personal and intentional fresh perspective on the patient journey.

With a growing community and high demand for allergy services, Premier Allergy quickly outgrew its original Scottsdale footprint. About a year ago, the practice moved into a new space in north Phoenix, creating room to expand services and add providers and staff. Dr. Khalsa is excited about what Michael Saavedra, MD, and Allyson Branston, FNP-C, bring to the team. They share her caring, compassionate approach—and together, the group has built a true sense of family.

Dr. Khalsa also credits ICP as an important part of her journey, particularly in building relationships with colleagues across ICP and HonorHealth. For her, the foundation of good care is strong relationships with referring physicians. ICP helps create that sense of community and collaboration—discussing cases, aligning on next steps, and supporting a seamless experience for patients. She notes that ICP membership can also help patients access more expedited care, something they notice and appreciate.

Over the years, Dr. Khalsa has been involved with ICP boards and committees. She has served on the IPO board (as chair and vice chair) and on the ICP board. She credits these roles with giving her a deeper understanding of how the hospital system works, helping her structure her practice in ways that better support shared patients.

Operationally, she highlights TigerConnect as a vital resource for efficient communication with the ER, coordination with PCPs, and connection with other specialists. She and her new team members are available on TigerConnect and welcome outreach to discuss mutual patients.
